What to bring to Surf Seychelles!
🌴 Surf Gear We Cant go Without in Seychelles
If you’re surfing in Seychelles—whether you’re just starting out or paddling out every day—you’ll want gear that works with the island, not against it. Here’s a laid-back guide to the stuff we swear by at SURF HOUSE.
🏄‍♂️ Boards That Make Sense Here
Mini-Mals – Super beginner-friendly, Super fun. Great for catching the smaller ones and the spots with long paddles out.
Fast Boards – Not too chunky, quad or thruster, and fast. Reef breaks are generally hollow and speedy.
👕 Rash Guards You’ll Actually Want to Wear
Go for UV protection – The sun here is no joke. Get a rashie that blocks rays but keep it light wear, no need for extra warmth.
Long sleeve is best – The sun here really is intense.
🧴 Sunscreen That Won’t Kill the Reef
Reef-safe or bust – Protect your skin and the ocean.
Water-resistant stuff – So it doesn’t vanish the second you duck dive.
🧢 Hats That Stay On (Even When You Don’t)
Wide brim = more shade – Especially helpful if you’re out during peak sun.
Chin straps are your friend – Wind and wipeouts are not.
đź©´ Footwear: Save Your Feet
Reef booties – Hidden sea urchins aren’t fun. Trust us.
Sandals that dry quick – For everything between surf and snacks.
🧰 Handy Extras
Wax + comb – Obvious, but don’t be the person who forgets.
GoPro – The colours of the water here are pristine
Mini repair kit – Fix dings before they turn into disasters.
Surfing in Seychelles is a beautiful experience, and having the right gear just makes it better. If you forget something, check out the BOARDRIDERS store in Eden Plaza for leashes, wax and accessories.
